First Step 团队暑假活动集锦 (四) Chattahoochee自然中心

This summer, more than 50 First Step volunteers came together to participate in avariety of exhibits, programs, and events at the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC). Situated on 127 acres of forest, wetland, and river habitat along theChattahoochee River at the crossroads of East Cobb and the City of Roswell, CNCprovided us with an incredible opportunity to connect with nature.

As volunteers, we explored the outdoors, helped restore habitats, promoted wildlife conservation, and learned practical gardening skills. Throughout the summer, we discovered new ways to conserve natural resources while enjoying thebeauty of nature and building stronger bonds with one another.

Though the long hours of hard work left us tan and pretty tired, we emerged healthier,stronger, and more connected with nature. Most importantly, we were left with adeep sense of fulfillment and a commitment to continue supporting CNC’s mission.

We are proud to have contributed to several significant events between June 1stand August 10th, and we will cherish the memories made for years to come. We are already looking forward to volunteering again next year and we plan to bring even more First Step volunteers along for the experience!

今年夏天，超过50名“First Step”团队志愿者积极参与了Chattahoochee自然中心 (CNC) 的各种展览、项目和活动。CNC 坐落在East Cobb与Roswell市交界处，拥有127英亩的森林、湿地和河流栖息地，为我们提供了一个与大自然亲密接触的绝佳机会。作为志愿者，我们探索了野外环境，帮助恢复栖息地，促进野生动物保护，并学习了具有实用价值的园艺技能。整个夏天，我们发现了许多保护自然资源的新方法，同时享受了大自然的美景，也加深了彼此之间的联系。虽然长时间的辛勤劳动让我们晒黑了、感到非常疲惫，但我们变得更健康、更强壮，也更加贴近大自然。最重要的是，我们带着满满的成就感离开，并承诺继续支持CNC 的使命。我们为6月1日至8月10日期间参与的多个CNC重要活动感到自豪，并将珍惜这些美好的回忆。我们已经期待明年再次志愿服务，并计划带更多的“FirstStep”志愿者一起体验这段旅程！

CNC Butterfly Encounter - Get up close and personal with hundreds of nativebutterflies and nectar plants

CNC Unity Garden Work - Volunteers raise vegetables through harvest. All of the fresh produce grown in the Unity Garden is donated to the food pantry at North Fulton Community Charities.

CNC Habitat Restoration - Remove invasive English Ivy, Privet, and other non-natives in the woodlands and wetlands to encourage native habitatrestoration.
