每个月，“First Step明日之光”表演团队都会在希望老人活动中心举办一场表演，为老年居民庆祝生日。参与者们会表演简短的节目，为老人们带来欢乐。
我是Ellen，来自Team Turtlebots机械神龟战队，一支本地的机器人团队。2024年12月28日，我们参加了这次活动，分享了STEM（科学、技术、工程和数学）和艺术的乐趣。这是我们第一次在这个中心表演，体验非常棒！有些人可能觉得这种活动很无聊，但老人们非常开心，特别享受每一个表演。他们的这一天充满了欢乐和幸福。
当天共有17个节目，包括舞蹈、歌唱以及各种乐器演奏，如钢琴、小提琴、大提琴和萨克斯风。主持人是个小朋友，她用普通话和英语双语主持，使得活动更加精彩。我们团队进行了五个表演：三场钢琴演奏、一个机器人乌龟舞蹈，以及一个展示“海龟保护“和Shelldon乌龟AI的小品。老人们对Shelldon提出了许多有趣的问题，我们还操作机器人给老人们递送了3D打印的小乌龟。机器人和人工智能技术对大多数老人来说都很新奇，他们也因此充满好奇心，笑声不断。他们给了我们许多赞美和热烈的掌声。我们非常喜欢分享STEM的乐趣。
中心的设施非常好，工作人员也都很棒。幕后，我们参观了中心的大部分区域。老人们特别喜欢那里养的两只鸟，很多人围着它们看。中心还有游戏和健身的区域，包括乒乓球、台球和举重器材。

Every month, the First Step Performance Team hosts a show at Peachtree Corners Adult Daycare Center to celebrate the residents’ birthdays. Participants perform short programs or shows, bringing joy to the elderly residents.
I am Ellen from Team Turtlebots, a local robotics team. On 12/28/2024, we participated in the event to share the joy of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and art. This was our first time performing at this center, and it was an incredible experience. Some might think such events are dull, but the seniors were overjoyed and thoroughly enjoyed every performance. Their day was truly filled with joy and happiness.
There were 17 performances in total, including dance, singing, and various instrumental pieces such as piano, violin, cello, and saxophone. The Emcee, a child, spoke fluently in both Mandarin and English, making the event more engaging.
Our team presented five performances: three piano pieces, a robot turtle dance, and a skit featuring sea turtle conservation and a demo of Shelldon, our Turtle AI. The seniors asked many thoughtful questions to Shelldon, and we also used our robot to deliver 3D-printed turtles to the seniors. Robotics and AI technology were new to most of them, thus their curiosity and laughter filled the room. They gave us warm compliments and enthusiastic applause. We truly enjoyed sharing the joy of STEM with them.
The center itself was impressive, and the staff were amazing. Behind the scenes, we toured various areas of the facility. The seniors loved their two birds, and many gathered around them. The center also had spaces for games and exercises, including table tennis, pool, and weights.
At the end of the event, we took a group photo with the performers and the seniors whose birthdays were in December. Happy birthday and Happy New Year to everyone there! Thank you for inviting us to be part of such a meaningful celebration.
