Andre Dickens, was inaugurated as Atlanta's 61st mayor in January 2022, has initiated and overseen numerous programs and policies aimed at enhancing the city's safety, equity, and development. Below is an overview of his key achievements:
Reduction in Homicide Rates:
--Since 2022, the city has experienced a 26% decrease in homicides, reflecting the administration's commitment to enhancing public safety.
Significant Investment in Housing:
--Mayor Dickens committed over $100 million to develop and renovate housing units, marking one of Atlanta's largest single investments in housing to date.
Summer Youth Employment Program:
--Approximately 14,000 young individuals secured jobs through this initiative, with the administration awarding over $10 million in scholarships to college-bound students.
Expansion of Green Spaces:
